Christmas Morning

Setting up. We did pretty good. Went to bed at about 12:40.

 

The boys woke up at 6:56 am. We went in their room and told them to wait. We let them wake up McCall while we got the camera ready. Andrew was so excited about his Diary of a Wimpy kid set.

McCall was kind of out of it and didn't show much emotion. Later that evening she did come up to me and say, "Mom thanks for all the dress up closes and for painting my trunk."

I snuck over to Lance's at about 3:30 and saw all the kids' toys. Santa brought Sierra the cutest kitchen ever! All wood. It was an old entertainment center made into a kitchen that she picked up at a boutique.

Events of Christmas Eve

 We had the perfect baby this year to play baby Jesus while Dustin read from Luke. Andrew played an Inn keeper, a shepard and a wise man. Jackson played Joseph, a shepard and a wise man.and McCall was Mary.I woke Zaylie up from a nap and she just sat in the basket the whole time very calm.

Dad took the kids outside to sprinkle oats and glitter so that the raindeer could find our house. The deer smell the oats and the glitter sparkles in the moonlight.

The kids helped get santa's plate ready after watching The Polar Express and before going to bed.

Christmas fun

We got our second tree from our local farmers market for small price of $20. The best trees...so full and smell so good. We usually go cut one down but without mom and dad in McCall this year it didn't sound as fun.

This ginger bread house did not come from Costco this year. I was not going to buy one and Dustin insisted that we did. The kids loved eating then destroying it!

Our poor snowman is becoming quite droopy!

 We got together for our annual dinner with the Bledsoes and Garretts for a big Christmas dinner. We had it at our house Rebecca made her famous yams and this year she brought a delisious pea
can pie. We had a great time catching up.

Andrew's School Christmas Performance

Andrew's class and other 2nd grade classes put on a great program full of Christmas songs.

An art project Andrew was proud of and said it took a long time to complete.

We finally built a snowman. The first storm we never got around to it so I'm glad we had enough snow again to build this beauty! McCall out in the carrot, Andrew the nose and Jackson the mouth.

McCall's Christmas program

Every year, since Jackson was in preschool, The Howard's have come to our preschool for a Santa Clause appearance. Tammy Howard used to be our R.S. President and is now serving in the Stake Presidency. We see her often and love her very much. Thank you Howard's!

 The kids did a good job of enacting the nativity scene.

 I snuck Zaylie quickly on Santa's lap with McCall. McCall asked for something Hello Kitty. Which I had not got. So the pajamas I had got for her had cats on them and she asked if they were Hello Kitty so I told her yes.

Christmas In McCall

We had lots of fun in McCall with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma planned lots of things for us to do and had incentives for the kids to be good. She had a box of wrapped gifts that the kids could choose from when they got along with each other and didn't fight. Andrew has been having a difficult time with this for years now!






We went sledding at the dump.






We ice skated at the Manchester Ice and Event Center. Andrew loved it so much that Dustin and I took them back there the next day.






We had a nice Christmas Eve program.







Grandma kept them busy with games during the day.







Santa even found our little family up in McCall!










It was a Lego fest for the boys and girly things for McCall.








The moose pajamas were a hit.

Lots of memories with this nativity scene. My mom made these when we lived in Provo. The set came from the BYU craft store. My mom would go to the BYU book store once a week for almost a year. She made five sets one for Donna, Lois, and NoraLee's family. They were given to them in sets for Christmas presents over a five year period. Lance (14) and Lane (12) and I (7) would come along sometimes and Lance once made a skull and a santa with a BYU football and Lane made a little kids nativity set which he still has and sets out every year.

Christmas In Hurricane

Before making it all the way to Hurricane for Christmas we stopped at the family cabin for a little winter fun. We ice skated, sled, and cook up some good food. We spent Friday night in SLC with Dannene's family and then made it to the cabin a day before everyone else. Shawn's family came with Grandma & pa and arrived Monday afternoon. Dannene's family just made it at about 2a.m. Tuesday morning.


McCall liked walking around on the frozen pond.

The boys really liked playing with the pool table in the cabin, McCall did too!

We arrived to Hurricane Tuesday late afternoon and kicked back until the rest of the crew arrived. Christmas Eve we tried to catch the Toquerville outdoor play but it was closed that night due to rain. Instead we went to see the lights at the St. George temple and walked through the visiter center. In front of the temple they had a gaint nativity scene with speekers playing the story of Jesus's birth taken from the Book of Luke.

The boys woke up to find that Santa had found them at Grandma's. The night before we sprinkled glittered oats over grandma's pourch, that Andrew had brought home from church, to feed Santa's raindeer. The frst thing in the mornign Andrew, along with Jackson, ran outside to see if the oats were gone, and of cource they were. They also found two scooters infront of their stockings. Months afterwards, Andrew wishes he could have told Santa what he wanted. He says he never got a chance to tell him this year. So I took it he wasn't too impressed with his Scooter!

This was Dustin's attempt to get a picture of the kids right after church all by himself. Lets just say that all four of them came in crying!
