The morning of the 14th I was really wanting labor to start. I had an appointment at 11am to see the midwifes and I was going to have them strip my membranes. I went for a walk that morning but didn't know how much to push it. After my appointment I learned my walk could be much more brisk. Ian told me to go on a 5 mile brisk walk, come home and use the breast pump off and on while watching a movie, hot show, then have sex, then repeat. Well first he gave me two bottles of caster oil and told me what it does and said how awful it is. Then he gave me the regimen above. Rose came in and stripped my membranes and checked me. I was a 4. After a 3:30 haircut appointment with Jeff Day I chose to try a brisk walk then pump. But on the drive to the appointment I was having some very strong Braxton hicks and almost turned around. I made it through the haircut and then my mom and I took off on a 5 pm walk to return some redbox DVD's. After returning we put on a movie and pumped.
Dustin took the kids to PoJo's. Wednsdays is half off pizza and drinks and they double the ticket value.
After pumping for a good hour my contractions were starting to get real strong. by 8:20 I thought for sure I would go into labor that night so I text Ian and he asked if he should send Rose over. Rose came over and checked me and I was a 5. She ended up calling Ian and they he arrived at about 10pm and we chatted in the living room and Rose preped some things in our room. I figured they would go home and when I asked they said they would just camp out on the couch and would wait for my call. At about 11pm they told me to go get some rest and sleep as much as I could and call them in when I wanted. I came and woke them from their light sleep on the couch at about 4 am. I had woke up a few times before then feeling some contractions but by 4 they were keeping me awake. Rose and Ian came in the room and sat on the couch next to the bed and just waiting a while. Dustin was snoring at my side. At one point they asked me if I should wake Dustin and I said lets give him till 5. At 5 he just woke up on his own and said "Oh, this is awkward." We had a good laugh. At that point I think Rose checked me and that made the water brake. My mom could hear that everyone was up and moving around so she came in. My position was laying on the very edge of my bed on my left side. I found this to be the most comfortable position. One time Ian mentioned that I wanted to try the tub so I had them fill it and I got to the edge of the tub and went through one contaction on my knees bending over putting my forhead on the edge of the tub and it hurt so bad I said, "get me back in the bed." Through all the contractions Rose was up on her feet putting pressure on the upper thigh of my right leg. This is how I delivered ...on my side.
10:45pm about to try and get some sleep.
The kids one night got into the dress up box and had a good time.

Richard and Noralee off already? This picture was them just arriving that afternoon. They left from Settler's Park the next day at noon. They didn't stay long but it was nice to see them.
