Dirt Bike Riding

Bought some used gear for the boys and pants and gloves for McCall. We are ready to ride this summer! Below is our first trip of the spring.

Our family sport for the last few years has been dirt biking. Dustin has been into it for many years now. I took over Dustin's old bike several years ago when Dustin thought it was time for a cooler bike. In November of '09 he came across a deal from a friend that he just couldn't pass up for a used KTM '07. For a while there we had three adult bikes! Ya, just in time for our move back into our old house! In February we finally sold my Yamaha '04 and Dustin's Honda '05.

The fall of '08 Andrew hopped on a little 50, when we were up in the hills, and loved it. Did just as good as riding his bicycle. Then this spring we went out with some families who had a 50 and we let Andrew and Jackson take a shot at it and they both did great and loved it! So we decided to get the boys something to ride and make that our family sport. We bought a small 4-wheeler for the kids and traded some work for a kids 70 dirt bike. We took our first ride as a family memorial weekend up towards Plaserville outside of Horshoebend. We set up a camp and played around till almost dark and headed home. We brought up Quizno's for an early dinner and cooked up cup-o-noodle for dinner/snack and roasted smores! Andrew took the dirt bike for a few spins and Jackson tried to. This bike is much more powerful than the two 50's they were used to so Jackson had a hard time on it. He mostly rode the 4-wheeler. Me and McCall played around camp.

April Fun

This spring we added a swing set to our backyard. Right now it is sitting in Lane's backyard. This has been their swing set for 12 years and they were getting rid of it so they asked if we would like to take it way for them! The kids have really enjoyed it. They spend way more time outside and don't ask to go to the park as much.

I invited ourselves over to Lance's for Family night to make cards for Mom and Dad on their mission. We made cards for Mother's day, Father's day and for their birhtdays, May 24th and June 4th. The older kids came up with some real creative cards with the paper I brought. And the little girls got real creative with dress up! Cynthia gave a quick lesson on temples and the service that mom and dad are doing over in Veracruz Mexico. Then we had a BBQ! It was very nice.

We heard the news that Baskin Robins was celebrating 25 years and serving 25 cent ice cream cones so we headed over for the action.

McCall's Funnies

She can be girlish and boyish at the same time. From princess to fireman or both. Usually she is in some kind of princess wear playing light sabers with the boys!

Jackson and McCall went outside on the tramp to play baby with their stuffed animals, which they often do, and McCall actually fell asleep. Jackson came in after about 25 minutes and McCall continued sleeping for another 30. She was crying when she woke up because Jackson had gone inside without her.

McCall had fun stacking things ontop of her sleeping daddy.

He actually slept thrpugh most of it!

This is proof that we did have some nice weather in April which prompted me to start my garden. We actually planted too and since then it has been so cold. We have had to cover our plants every night with a tarp. I hope they last!

Easter In SLC

We had no extended family around for Easter so we called up Dannene and asked if we could go there for Eater. They were going to Hurricane to be with Danna and Drew so I threw out the idea of them going to SLC so we could meet up with everyone. Dannene called Danna and they agreed to go there. So we ended up in SLC for Eater with family. The kids loved being with their cousins and it was nice to hang out. The drive was not too easy being 6 months pregnant with bad bad varicrose veins. We had snowy roads for a short part of the drive near Ogden. Then when we get there there is snow all over covering their grass! Not what we expected for Easter wheather but we made do.

We had the Bone kids hide the eggs for our kids and then our kids hide their eggs for them. The boys had Blad bucks in their eggs, just enought to by a lego set that had been sitting in the Blad store for quite some time (which we brought with us). McCall's eggs had candy and some Blad bucks. The boys immediately started putting together their lego sets (race cars).

What do you know, the Easter Bunny found the kids in SLC!

Neon Trees

While in SLC for Easter Dustin hooked up with old friends. We met Robbie and Brandon and the spouces for dinner and caught up on old times. Brandon is now the bass player for Neon Trees and is just about to go on tour.

This is Neon Trees playing at a local record store that was pretty close to Dannene's house so we snuck out and saw them play in between conference sessions. I took my shirt off and had them screen my maternity shirt with the Neon Trees logo. We also bought their CD and got a free screened shirt for Dustin. These guys are all living in Utah and most are from Utah. Brandon was in Ataboy Skip with Ronnie (drummer for the Killers) back in the day. Now they are both in these big bands. Pretty cool.

Jackson's 5th Birthday Party

Jackson turns 5 and has a birthday party with most of his preschool friends. He had a Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker cake.

I made up pizza dough and the kids got to create their own mini pizza's. While the pizza's baked they had an obsticle course in the backyard that Jackson set up. We timed them and they won prizes for the fastest times. They won candies, little swuirt guns, harmonicas, jumping frogs... Then they came in and eat their pizza on starwars 3D plates. Jackson loved all his presents especially the one from Lance (pictured below) his preschool friend. Jackson had been saving up his Blad bucks for the Blad store to purchase this power minor lego set, so when Jackson opened up this present, the power minor lego set, his eyes got real big. He was very excited.

McCall Turns Asian

Dustin went to see his Brother at their new place in Tracey, CA. Everyone was there for the baby blessing of the newest Blad, Levi Benson born February 6th. While there they went to San Fransico and Dustin picked up this sweet outfit from China town. It probably won't make it through two washings but it made for some cute pictures!
