Andrew and his first dirt bike ride

IDAHO CITY IN NOVEMBER

NOVEMBER 8, 2008

We took off for Idaho City last weekend to go riding at about 9:45 am and arrived home about 5pm. The whole Cazier family rides dirt bikes and Grace, their 7 year old did not feel like riding. I asked Andrew if he wanted to try it and he smiled really big and said "YES." He hopped right on and took off like he had been riding for years. The day was very warm for November (48 degrees). We drank hot chocolate by the fire, had lunch and took turns riding!

Andrew followed this same trail over and over and over for about 30 minutes!
Dad was right there for the first round then saw how confident he was and we all just watched form afar.
He went over bumps, through rocky terrain, and even a mud puddle!

He was speckled with dirt when he was done. He quickly asked when he could ride it again.

McCall had fun walking around picking up sticks and getting really close to the fire!

The whole family enjoyed the day. Oh, almost forgot the trauma in the car with Andrew before we arrived. Andrew was complaining about sticky hands. We gave him a baby wipe and he used then 2 minutes later he was still sticky and wanted another one. I had about two in the case and needed to save them for McCall when she did her thing. Andrew just started wigging out, crying and crying and complaining for about 10 minutes. When we arrived he couldn't get his seat belt off and just went off crying again so we left him in the car and dad banded him from his bike. He stayed in the car for about 10 minutes crying acting like he was stuck in there and couldn't open the door! But the rest of the day was great!

Halloween Night

The kids were all NASCAR themed. Andrew and McCall were race car drivers and Jackson was a race car. Mom and Dad were the fans!
Mom took the first shift walking the kids from door to door. Our first 5 minutes out Jackson was having problems with his straps...they kept falling off. Then both of them have to pee. Andrew's outfit Velcro's up the back so it's not very conspicuous when trying to pee. I had both of them pee in the bushes when no cars were going by. Then Andrew decides he wants to trick-or-treat Ella's house (a girl in his class) so we head further away from the house towards Ella's. He assures me that it is not far. Well, Andrew is riding in this Race car go-cart that has a battery life of about 20-30 mins. The classmate lived at the very front of the subdivision. I made us turn around half way there knowing that I would be pushing home a go-cart with a card board car inside it!
On our adventure we saw Governor Palin and John McCain. Palin was holding a little baby and a coffee mug and McCain was holding up a campaign sign. It was hilarious!!


On dad's adventure out with the boys, he took them to LOCAL neighbors and to a neighbors Hunted Maze. Jackson said it was scary and Andrew said it was cool. They boys came home about 9:00 pm and immediately dumped out their candy and sorted them. Oh, the memories!

The Boise Zoo Halloween

The Boise Zoo does a Halloween day the Saturday before Halloween. A variety of different companies set up booths in the Zoo and hand out candy to the kids. The Zoo also has a costume contest and different crafts for the kids to do and bounce houses.

We went with the Weiss's and they took a pictures of our family by the river.

The Corn Maze

Every year we try and take the kids out to a corn field were they have fun activities for the kids in the month of October. This year we took them to The Corn Maze. We had a lot of fun this year. The Corn Maze had two new things for the kids! They had a Giant Spring Pillow and a pig race. McCall really got a kick out of the pig race. She also LOVED the little animal zoo.

Jackson thought this was pretty cool. Last time we were here he was McCall's age hanging out in the corn box!

OCTOBER BIRTHDAYS AND FUN

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY ANDREWNASCAR THEME PARTY

Grandma and Grandpa came and stayed with us the night before Andrew's birthday. Grandma helped with the ice cream cake and took Andrew and Austin out for ice cream, after Andrew arrived home from school. They were going to pick him up from school but Andrew decided he wanted to ride the bus home! We decorated for the birthday party the night before.

Andrew was so excited about his remote control NASCAR until he opened his last present form mom and dad. Then he decided that Jackson could control the mini NASCAR while he rode the real thing!

He was very extactic to walk outside and see this sitting in the driveway! A race car GO-CART. He is in heaven. He has been riding it in the blasted cold weather (45) for the last two days. He just goes in a circle in the driveway.

Andrew has been asking for a Go-cart for two years. He would ask if we could move on a farm so that we could build a go-cart track. I told him that dad is not a farmer! Grandma was on the look out for a scooter for me at the McCall thrift store to give to Andrew for his birthday when she ran into this race car! The store was not opended and the car had just arrived. She new he loved race cars and called me to see if we had already got his birthday present. I said no. So she went back to the thrift store when they opened and was able to get the race car before maintinance inspection. The car, with working 12 volt battery and everything, was only $15!!

When all the 8 boys arrived we played a maze race game. Each winner took home a toy car. They played in two's so there were several winner.

We also played pin the tire on a race cars ear. I found a poster of Jeff Gordon at the dollar store! I made 9 tires out of black construction paper. It was really fun. The kids had a blast and they all waited patiently in a line for their turn.

Andrew's NASCAR ice cream cake turned out fabulous! The checkered ice cream stayed checkered as grandma pressed it into the cake I had previously made and froze the night before. It looked amazing and also tasted amazing. We offered the boys oil slick to drizzle over the top of their cake and no one refused.

I heard comments from kids that this was the best party! That made me feel good. Andrew had a great time and had looked forward to this day for weeks.

Austin's birthday is just one week before Andrew's. They had a great time at Chucky Cheese. Austin had 6 of his buddy's there and each kid was given 10 tokens and two slices of pizza. Two weeks before that Andrew was invited to Scott's (Andrew's neighbor and classmate) party at the same place. So by this time he was ready for it to be his party and not someone elses.


McCall had fun in this car and wouldn't leave it.

We opened up the Halloween box Oct. 3rd before going to Austin's party and we decorated the whole house. Andrew went around setting things on tables while McCall tried on funny glasses.
